PASTOR DARYL YOUNG

Pastor Young was born in Wilson, NC and raised in Winston-Salem by his mother and father, Mrs. Dorothy P. Young and the late Alex Young. He graduated from Carver High School and a few years later he went on to serve eight (8) years in the U.S. Navy/Naval Reserves where he was a decorated veteran serving in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

In October 1995, he rededicated his life to Christ at his home church of First Calvary Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, NC and soon afterwards started seeking diligently after the cause of Christ. In February of 1999 he accepted his call to preach the Gospel and in April 1999 he preached his initial sermon “One Day without the Word” at Pentecostal Lighthouse Baptist Church of Kernersville, N.C. under the leadership of Pastor Dr. A.T. Griffey, III. In July of 2000, he received his ordination as a minister by the High Point Educational & Missionary Baptist Association. In January 2004, Pentecostal Lighthouse Baptist Church merged with Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church becoming one church. Before pastoring, Rev. Young worked in several ministry areas, such as the Food Pantry, purchasing and delivering food to those in need, teaching Sunday School, serving as Assistant to Pastor Griffey and serving as Training and Development Coordinator for Associate Ministers. He has also served as a Field Worker for the High Point Educational & Missionary Baptist Association.

In 2005 Rev. Young graduated from Winston Salem State University with his Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems. While attending WSSU he served on the S.T.A.R.’s team, which is an organization to help mentor young people. He was twice selected to be in Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities and his research work was published in the academic publication “Sociology Today”. In July 2014 he earned his Masters of Theology degree from Vintage Bible College and is currently working on a Doctoral Degree.

In 2001, Pastor Young married the former Natasha Davis and they reside in the city of Winston-Salem, NC. Since 2010 Rev. Young has proudly served as Senior Pastor and Teacher of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, NC. Pastor Young has a heart for all people and a true passion to see them saved and delivered.

Pastor Young’s life-philosophy comes directly from Psalm 37:23-26; “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed".

OUR CHURCH

A Church Living Every Day for Christ

Through the guidance of The Holy Spirit our mission at Mt Carmel Missionary Baptist Church is to create disciples by equipping God’s people for ministry through practical Biblical preaching, teaching and Christ-centered worship. We do this in hope of impacting our local community through evangelism, outreach and warm-hearted fellowship.

Located in the Easton Community, Mt. Carmel offers a number of ministries to support your spiritual growth. Wednesdays at 6:30 pm is our weekly bible study, and Sundays at 9 am is Bibles and Breakfast. After Sunday Church School we enter into worship at 10:30 am.  You are more than welcome to join us as we praise and worship God together!
